Artist Statement

Mandy is a porcelain artist whose work explores elegance, precision, and movement through unique, ergonomic forms. Using the intricate nerikomi technique—layering and slicing coloured porcelain—she creates mesmerising, nature-inspired patterns that are entirely one-of-a-kind. Her minimalist aesthetic emphasises grace, balance, and the delicate strength of porcelain. Her innovative practice bridges creativity and technical mastery.

Trained originally in chemistry, Mandy later pursued ceramics full-time, establishing her own studio in 2005. She has exhibited in many countries (Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Singapore, Taiwan), earning recognition including the Bronze Prize (2021 Taiwan Ceramics Biennial), the SO Fine Art Editions  Ireland Award (2021), and the Creativity and Craftsmanship Award (2022, Ceramics Ireland). Her work is collected by POW Ireland and Taiwan Yingge museum.

Mandy is one of the world's renowned Nerikomi artists, featured in  'Nerikomi : The Art of Colored Clay' book by Thomas Hoadley, USA 2024.
